"This camp was amazing! I loved making the huts and making new friends"

Summer Camps - August 2020

Enjoy lots of woodland adventures with Brigit’s Garden and Down to Earth on our forest school inspired summer camps This is a five-day camp, from 10am-1.30pm daily.

The camps will combine the beauty of Brigit's Garden with the adventures, inspiration and freedom of Forest School. Camps will have a variety of natural crafts, activities and games. We regret that are unable to offer the Fun with Nature camp this summer, but we have reduced the age for the Wilderness Survival Skills camp to 7 years to accommodate as many children as possible

The camps will be smaller in size to allow the sessions to be child-led which is central to the Forest School ethos.

Wilderness Survival Skills, 7 to 12 Year olds.

This camp will provide opportunities for children to enhance their survival skills, with animal tracking, fire building, flora and fauna recognition, foraging and cooking of wild plants, shelter and den building, tool and knife use, knot tying and rope swing making.
Each camp is run by fully qualified Forest School Leaders with years of experience bringing children into nature.

What is Forest School?

Forest School is a way of working with children in a woodland environment, which provides a positive, natural, multi-sensory learning experience to develop physically, emotionally, socially and forming an appreciation and respect for the environment.

Sessions are child-led and child-initiated and aim to allow the child to follow their own interests and develop at their own pace.

Forest school provides a safe place for children to take age appropriate risks, such as tree climbing and tool use that help to enhance confidence and self-esteem under supervision of qualified leaders.

Summer Camp Terms and Conditions

When booking, please note any special needs, medical conditions or allergies that we should be aware of.

If your child carries an epipen or inhaler please advise their camp leader at the start of the camp.

Special arrangements will be in place to ensure the safety of the children and staff with regard to Covid-19. Children must follow the guidance provided by the leaders.

Brigit’s Garden Summer Camps are outdoor camps and it is expected that children’s hands and clothes may get mucky and wet at times.

Consent will be sought when booking for your child to receive emergency first aid should the need arise, and for your child to receive emergency treatment from healthcare professionals

You understand that your child(ren) may need additional outdoor clothing for camp activities. We will continue the sessions rain or shine so waterproofs and boots will be needed!
