All programmes are activity-based using interactive and observational games, sensory awareness, music, drama, arts and crafts.
A DPS certificate will be issued to every school.
Activities are held mainly outdoors with indoor options in wet weather. The children will be in groups of 15 -20 and the activities will be age-appropriate.
Infants - 3rd class
3 hour DPS programme*
Learning in Nature’s Classroom: Engaging, hands-on activities with an emphasis on observation and sensory exploration of the natural world.
Each visit consists of three sets of activities:
Exploring the gardens & woodlands:
Exploring typical habitats through sensory games and fun activities.
The world of minibeasts:
Catching and observing pond minibeasts and exploring the pond habitat.
Celtic heritage and nature:
Our Celtic gardens bring to life the rich nature traditions of St Brigit and the festivals of Bealtaine and Samhain.

4th - 6th class The Brigit's Garden Challenge!
3 hour programme
An interactive learning experience for older children. Designed to develop investigative and observational skills while building confidence and encouraging team-work. Each group completes four activities:
Mini-beast challenge:
Catching and identifying pond mini- beasts.
Woodland challenge:
Discovering the world of Ogham trees, or completing the blindfold trail.
Navigation challenge: Using a compass to navigate between challenge locations.
Celtic challenge: Exploring the Celtic view of the natural worl
d Rocks, fossils & ice age: Optional challenge on request.
The finale of each visit for all age-groups is a colourful parade through the Bealtaine garden with percussion and drums.
